VOIP Documentation

Directories, training materials and the PC install file can be found at the following location.  

The attached documentation will help you get started using the new phone system.
      VOIP Training- These are the PowerPoint slides that were discussed during training.
      Voicemail Quick Reference Guide- This guide will show you how to navigate the voicemail menu.
            Your default voicemail password is your extension followed by two zeros, XXXX00.
      Phone - VVX350 - Reference Guide-  This guide will show you how to navigate the phone menu.

The' 8x8 Work' application can be installed on a PC or  Apple and Android mobile devices.  The app allows for calls to be made and received from a remote location.  
'8x8 Work' allows you to make calls, chat, have a video call and share your PC or mobile device.  The entire Town directory is available via the app.

Install/ log into 8x8 Work
  1. First install '8x8 Work' by downloading the install file here.
  2. Launch the application once it is installed and click 'Forgot Password'.
  3. Enter your username ("extension"@norwoodma.gov) then click 'Send'.
  4. You will then receive an email that contains a link to change your password.  Follow the instructions and then return to the 8x8 Work app and log in.  
Manage your account via the 8x8 website
You can manage your voicemail greetings, voicemail messages and other features by taking the following steps.
      1.  Go to https://sso.8x8.com/
      2.  Log in using your username (extension@norwoodma.gov) and password.
            Click the 'Forgot Password' link if you do not know your password.
      3.  Once logged in you can edit items such as your voicemail greeting and how voicemail messages get delivered to email.
                  Voicemail to email- From the Voicemail Settings menu on the left; IT recommends "Attachment only and delete the original voicemail" or "Attachment Only".
                  

Access voicemail remotely-
  1. Dial 781-487-1380
  2. Enter your extension then press pound (#).
  3. When prompted, enter your VM password followed by pound (#).
  4. Now you can retrieve your messages.
Dial by name directory-
The new phone system allows you to dial anyone in the town or schools by name.  To do so, follow the steps below.
  1. On your phone press the 'More' button on the bottom of the display one time.
  2. The bottom of the display will change, press the 'Directory' button.
  3. Press "2" for the 'Corporate Directory'.
  4. Start to type the person's last name then press 'Submit'. 
    1. If there is more than one person with a similar name you will need to use the "down" button to select the correct user.
  5. Press the 'Dial' button on the bottom of the screen.
